THE VALUE OF SPIRITUALITY

TOPIC: THE VALUE OF SPIRITUALITY

SCRIPTURE: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28.
NOTE: Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.
Spirituality is an indispensable necessity for life and destiny. The greatest need of anyone is the need for true spirituality. The most essential needs of man are spiritual needs. When the spiritual is handled, the natural follows. Therefore, a person must give crucial attention to his/her spirituality more than all other things in life.

Now, let me give three things that spirituality would produce in the life of a person:
I) SPIRITUALITY IS DOORWAY TO RESPONSIBILITY
Every true spiritual person is a responsible person. A spiritual husband, father, employee, or employer is a responsible person. To know God well is to do things well. Nothing refines character like spirituality. The closer we get to God, the more like Him we become (2 Corinthians 3:18). Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.
II) SPIRITUALITY SHARPENS MENTALITY
The closer to God we are, the more like Him we think. No one can be closely related to the Almighty God and behave like a fool. Distance from God is distance from sense; disconnection from God is impartation of stupidity.
III) SPIRITUALITY IS DOORWAY TO RELIABILITY
The closer people get to God, the more reliable they become in their character (Daniel 6:3). So, the limit of spirituality is the limit of reliability, and reliability is foundation for authority. Your spirituality will provoke your reliability and your reliability will establish your blessing.
THE VALUE OF SPIRITUALITY
1. Love: Love is a central value of spirituality in the Bible. Jesus himself said that the two greatest commandments are to love God and love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40).
2. Compassion : Compassion is another important value in the Bible. Jesus was known for his compassion towards those who were suffering, and he taught his followers to show compassion to others as well (Matthew 9:36, Matthew 25 :35-40).
3. Humility: The Bible teaches that humility is an important virtue for spiritual growth. Jesus himself demonstrated humility by washing his disciples' feet and ultimately sacrificing himself for the sake of others (John 13 :1-17, Philippians 2:3-8).
4. Forgiveness: Forgiveness is a key value in the Bible, and Jesus taught his followers to forgive others as they have been forgiven by God (Matthew 6 :14-15, Colossians 3:13).
5. Gratitude : The Bible teaches that gratitude is an important aspect of spirituality. Christians are called to give thanks in all circumstances, recognizing that everything comes from God (1 Thessalonians 5:18, James 1:17).
6. Generosity: Generosity is another important value in the Bible. Jesus taught his followers to give to those in need and to use their resources for the greater good (Matthew 25 :34-40, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
7. Faith : Faith is a central component of spirituality in the Bible. Christians are called to trust in God and believe in his promises, even when circumstances seem difficult (Hebrews 11:1, Romans 8:28).
8.Communion : In the Christian faith, the blood of Jesus is a symbol of redemption and salvation and has spiritual significance for believers. The Bible teaches that through the shedding of his blood, Jesus made a way for believers to have their sins forgiven and to be reconciled with God.
The concept of spirituality through the blood of Jesus is rooted in the idea of atonement, which is the reconciliation of humanity with God. According to Romans 3:23, all humans have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and the penalty for sin is death Romans 6:23. However, because of his great love for humanity, God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins, so that through faith in him, we can be forgiven and be made righteous.(Matthew 26:26-28)
When believers accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they are said to be redeemed by his blood. This means that they are forgiven of their sins and are given new life in Christ. The Bible says, "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" (Ephesians 1:7).
Spirituality through the blood of Jesus is also about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in believers. The Holy Spirit is seen as the presence of God in the lives of believers and is given to us as a gift when we accept Jesus as our Savior.
The Holy Spirit helps believers to grow in faith and to live a life that is pleasing to God.
These are just a few of the values of spirituality emphasized in the Bible. There are many more that could be explored as well.
Beloved, my counsel is, develop your spiritual roots in God and let it reflect in the way you live.
Remember this: Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.
HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM THESES VALUES:
1. Decide to maintain a life of high spirituality.
2. Endeavour to always accept responsibility.
3. Be reliable in everything you do.
4. Approach life with a solid mentality.
PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace for quality spirituality. Help me, to be responsible and reliable in everything I do, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
